A non-descript, dour Chinese restaurant offering takeaway standard food and moody staff. Located at California crossroads in Finchampstead, Chef Peking should have the ideal spot to create a buzzing restaurant - Xenuk, an Indian restaurant nearby, offers the only competition. But Chef Peking fails on all accounts - the décor is dated, the atmosphere brightly lit and unfriendly and the food of a very mediocre standard. Chef Peking could easily be so much more, but at present fails miserably on all accounts. Get a takeaway instead, or take a taxi somewhere else for your Chinese food.
