Gordon Ramsay tends to have the Marmite affect on people - you either love him or hate him. But whatever your thoughts may be on the man himself, theres no doubt that he knows how to run an exceptional restaurant. Gordon Ramsay in Royal Hospital Road is the flagship restaurant in an ever growing empire and the combination of contemporary elegance and fantastic food, completely justifies this position. It is one of only three restaurants in the UK to hold three Michelin stars - the highest accolade obtainable and deservedly so (the others being The Fat Duck and The Waterside Inn). The restaurant itself is intimate without being claustrophobic and the service is excellent without being annoying. The food is out of this world, despite being based on fairly simple principles, which is Mr Ramsays mantra. Excellent all round.
