One of Reading's posh restaurant commands an ideal location in the heart of the town centre and next to the River Kennet. Inside, the venue is minimalist and endearing, while the staff are very professional and friendly. Everything should be right for this venue, but the food just doesnt quite make it. The venue plays heavily on the locally-sourced or hand procured ingredients, there is a modern albeit slightly populist menu, and a healthy wine list. But somehow the food is all a bit thrown together, and the seasoning is always heavy handed thus rendering the quality ingredients almost pointless. The food is of bistro standard at present - it could easily be so much more - but the prices make it a venue for a special occasion. A really nice venue in a prime location but needs some work on food and pricing.
