(Review date: May 2008, has been relaunched May 2009)

A friendly family-run Italian venue serving hearty, rustic Italian food in generous portions. Offers a more authentic experience than your average Italian and is an ideal venue for a quiet meal for two.
The food is fairly simplistic - but that is often the way in family-run Italians. Cheese, sauce and oil dominate many of the dishes, so don't go to Rossini's expecting a culinary adventure. However, that's not to say that there isn't something very enjoyable about what's on offer here.
Pricing is a bit hit and miss but on the whole is fairly reasonable. The sweet trolley is something special.

"Having not been to Rossini for years, we decided to give it a go again last night. The previous commentator is correct, it is not somewhere to go if you are after a bit of Heston. However what we did get was a lovely, friendly atmosphere, great food, excellent wine and impeccable service. The bill wasn't a shock either. Fantastic venue to be highly recommended."

"
Some time ago, two long term Italian residents visited us and for the first time, we ate at Rossini’s. None of us were impressed and the Italian residents certainly weren’t. My wife and I went again recently. The service was generally good the waiters being polite and well dressed 9/10. No finger bowl for finger food; no wet napkin to clean up afterwards; I had to go to the toilets to wash my hands so attention to detail 1/10. The food was mediocre and somewhat bland and certainly nothing to inspire me. I have eaten in some very rustic places in Italy and although some of the dishes can be very simple, they are generally very tasty, so food experience 3/10. The price was reasonable but certainly not value for money. Nothing inspired me so value for money 3/10. Total experience therefore 4/10."

"
A real find for a town liberally endowed with Italian restaurants. The food is excellent; perfectly cooked, presented and very good value for money. The service is exemplary; attentive but not intrusive and the ambience cozy and friendly. (You could almost imagine you were in Italy). It is the perfect place to go if you fancy a romantic dinner for two."

"
Rossini's is the most fabulous Italian restaurant I have ever eaten in (apart from in Italy itself!).
The food is fantastic, the people are great and so welcoming that you feel part of the family. This creates a relaxed, enjoyable and fun environment, and me and my family spend hours eating, drinking, talking and laughing every time we visit.
It is a family-run traditional Italian trattoria, and is so authentic it feels like you are actually in a restaurant on the Almafi coast.
The food ranges from traditional pasta dishes, to veal, chicken, steak and fish and the vegetables are outstanding - even better than my Nana's.
The range of wine is a compliment to the great food, and you must leave room for the dessert trolley!
If you're in the area and like Italian food, Rossini's is a must..."
