Located in the heart of London’s theatreland, Sarastro offers an interesting and unusual place for a quick bite before or after a show. The restaurant bills itself as ‘the show after the show’ and the flamboyant décor and ten theatre-style boxes on the first level of the restaurant certainly have a lot of appeal. The food is mixed and fairly basic - more tapas than full-sized sit-down dinners - but served its purpose if hunger is your motivation and is reasonably priced. Sarastro will stimulate your senses, even more so because of the general buzz of the place and the energetic staff. If you’re looking for a simple but hearty meal in an unusual and interesting venue then this is a good choice. The toilets are particularly worth noting (and a visit!) - the walls are covered in explicit erotic paintings.
